Missions
“…I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” – Isaiah 49:6
Our Missions Team & Vision
The Missions Team meets monthly to support us as a community being witnesses to the Gospel and to the ends of the earth. We sponsor several missionaries globally and partner locally as a church. The principle concern is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially to those who are considered part of “unreached people groups.”
We have a Lanesville Global Strategy that includes engaging the world with a passion for God’s glory, Confident Prayer, Gospel Action, Intentional Focus, and Risk-taking, joyfully sacrificing our time, money, skills, passions, and lives to make God known. These values help us proclaim Christ among Gospel-destitute and forgotten peoples, making disciples, and training indigenous leaders.
In practice, this means the whole church takes ownership of missions through prayer, personal involvement, and generous giving. Missions permeate the whole life of the church, from music to preaching, from art to sports, creating a mission-centered atmosphere in our community. The Missions Team provides clear communication, periodic mission education, and presents opportunities for churchwide involvement with our mission partners.
At Lanesville, you are invited to develop a deeper passion for the people in our focus areas.
Outside Lanesville, we partner to see:
-
Disciples being made, the gospel spreading, and God being worshipped in our focus areas
-
Stories being told about prayers being answered and the door of faith being opened in our focus areas
-
Faithfulness and perseverance to God’s calling even in discouragement or persecution
-
Indigenous believers leading the effort to reach their own
-
Our partner missionaries and ministries are confident that Lanesville is holding the ropes, as our partners go down into the pit.
-
God doing things we can’t explain
Our Church Sponsors Several Missions Locally & Abroad.
We believe that ministering to people’s needs and sharing Biblical truth are inherent to what it means to being followers of Jesus and our missionaries exemplify this through their various ministries. Our principle concern is for the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially to those who are considered part of “unreached people groups."

Germany Mission
Joel White: Guissen School of Theology
Guissen Germany
Lanesville has had a heart for Germany for many years, ignited by the work of Joel and Tatjana White. We’ve supported the Whites and their family for over two decades, as they train indigenous German Christians through the seminary
Joel teaches in, through their work in the local church, and by helping refugees. Their goal is to continue raising up leaders for the church in Germany to have a solid Biblical base to support and exponentially grow the current church in Germany.

Naomi Deckert
Indigitous is a global movement taking the gospel
to new people, new places and new spaces in our connected and digital world.
Naomi Deckert serves as Operations Manager with Indigitous. Over the past nine years, Naomi has served the global church in the areas of project coordination, event management, project management and operations management. She served with the Lausanne Movement from 2017-2024 and began serving with Indigitous in 2025. In October of 2025, Lanesville Congregational Church began their official partnership with her and are proud to financially and prayerfully support her work.
Indigitous is a combination of the words "indigenous" (locally generated and culturally adapted to successfully share the Good News) and "digital" (using technological tools and platforms to accelerate mission in a digital world). Indigitous is a network of people working to use technology contextualized to their culture and context to reach others with the Good News. They want to see followers of Jesus discovering their place in God’s mission, confidently using digital experiences, exploring and creating innovative approaches, and collaborating with like-minded and like-hearted people to bring the enduring gospel in a constantly evolving and digitally connected world.
Naomi works remotely from Gloucester MA except for occasional international travel to meet with her global team or to encourage and support Indigitous leaders around the world. She is married to Will and mother of their two children, Anneliese and Ezra.
Youth Mississippi Mission
This Annual Trip has become an event that has shaped the lives of many who have attended since its inception in 1997.
For over 20 years, we have offered a Vacation Bible School program in the same neighborhood in Canton, Mississippi, as well as engaging in service projects to encourage and provide compassionate service to “neighbors” in Canton. The continuity and formation of relationships has made this a unique trip that has helped to form us as much as it has (we hope) been an encouragement to our many friends in Canton.
Working in partnership with In His Steps Ministries in Canton, our goal is to share the love and good news of Jesus in practical ways, as we come alongside people and a community that we have grown to love, and in doing so, to foster and build the special friendships and connections we have made over the years.
